Call for papers: Sustainable service management

In recent years, the topic of sustainability has experienced a significant rise in importance. Few topics dominate current political, economic and scientific discussions to the same extent. Numerous studies show that sustainability is an increasingly influential factor in purchasing decisions. It is also apparent in practice that sustainability is a very serious issue for any business model. Furthermore, the public is increasingly demanding sustainable corporate governance(e.g. through sustainability reports included in annual reports).

It is obvious that the issue of sustainability is particularly relevant for manufacturing companies, as the use of resources is directly related to the production of goods and services.

Nevertheless, companies in the service context are also required to act in a sustainable manner. Within the framework of sustainable service management, numerous questions arise concerning the entirety of all economic, ecological and social contributions of a company. The adoption of social responsibility means that the general behavior of the company and especially the services it offers must be examined more closely from the sustainability point of view.
